Tandem Treadmill
Force Plate-Instrumented Treadmill
AMTI’s tandem treadmill is our most popular force-sensing treadmill. The innovative front-to-back split belt design promotes a natural gait while providing complete bilateral forces during both walking and running. Research has shown that a side-by-side split belt leads to altered mechanics resulting from a widened stance. AMTI’s unique design provides the data you need, without compromising natural movement.
Key Features:
- Inclination up to 25% grade
- Reversible belts for uphill and downhill testing
- Two independent, 6-axis force platforms with 8900 N vertical capacity
- Adjustable speed up to 20 km/hr
- Ships fully-assembled with all software pre-loaded on an AMTI-supplied PC
- Simple digital USB integration with all leading motion capture software
- AMTI’s StrideWorks software automatically transforms front/back forces into left/right limb forces in real-time. Stream this data directly into your motion capture software (via USB).
The extensive capabilities of the tandem treadmill make it an ideal method for studying both walking and running under level, uphill, and downhill conditions. High performance digital motor controllers and included software provide users with an intuitive interface for control of treadmill inclination, belt travel direction, and belt speed up to 20 km/h.
AMTI’s treadmills feature a reinforced frame with a high natural frequency structure for cleaner data and two integrated six-axis force plates. The treadmill ships fully-assembled and is free-standing for easy installation. This design gives you the option to move the treadmill in and out of your capture volume to maximize utility or for shared lab spaces.
Our instrumented treadmill allows for data collection over long-duration bouts of walking or running, opening the possibility for fatigue or steady-state movement studies. Conversely, it’s possible to collect data from multiple footfalls in a short amount of time for robust and efficient studies, even in small facilities.
